• You will receive an email to set up a consultation if your design is accepted.  The vast majority are!  Others get a recommendation for someone better suited to the work.

• Consultations are limited and may not always be available, so please allow some time for the review process and consultation times to open.

Why consultations?

Consultations let us come up with a plan!  Plans are good, and it makes my schedule happy.  We’ll discuss your design, get you a price quote, pay a deposit for the tattoo appointment, and have a chance to ask questions.

I worked in walk-in style shops for years and vastly prefer this slowed down, appointment-only approach.  Having an appointment means we are not being interrupted by walk-in traffic, and I can focus on YOU and your questions.  When tattooing, there are no random people gawking or loitering.  I do not rush and strive to give you the highest quality work I can.

I prefer to work with smaller to medium sized pieces, and am happy to work on a larger project that can take multiple sessions.

Larger scale work like sleeves and backs will be assessed on a per-project basis.  The requirements to accept a large scale project include having several in-depth consultations, a minimum $500 deposit to start the project,  a minimum of 5 consecutive monthly appointments, and an artist-led vision.

At Moon Rae, all artists operate by appointment only, with a consultation required for all new clients and most new projects.  We do not offer walk-ins or same-day appointments of any kind.  The shop does not have general “open” hours and we keep the front door locked in order to maintain our appointment-only standard, and to minimize distractions to our artists and increase client comfort.

Feel free to email me any time to inquire about consultation availability, but please keep in mind consultation appointments are available on a limited basis, and there is usually a month or two delay between consultation and tattoo appointment.  

I do not offer quotes via email as there are too many factors to consider when pricing a piece.  You may sign up for a consultation when they are available and a price quote will be given at the consultation appointment.  My hourly rate is $175, with a $100 minimum.
